Hydraulic Release Tools
To run inflatable packers on coiled tubing, it is necessary to have some type of non-rotational release safety joint. The TAM Hydraulic Release was initially developed to fulfill this requirement. The Hydraulic Release is also used as a disconnect to run and release from a packer being set as a bridge plug.
A sleeve holds a set of dogs in a profile of the release sub until the sleeve shifts, allowing the dogs to retract and the tool release.
Features:
- Can release with or without a ball
- Torque through capability available
- Allows circulation after release
Benefits:
- The TAM Hydraulic Release allows circulation through the end of a slotted liner or screen and rotating and reciprocating the liner while running into the well
- Allows release off tools in horizontal without string manipulation
Applications:
- The Hydraulic Release allows disconnect of the tubing string from the inflatable tools being left in the well
- Emergency release
