TAM inflatable bridge plugs provide reliable anchoring in casing or open hole applications, and set where mechanical tools won’t. Small OD allows tools to pass through restrictions and set in larger OD, with select elements expanding up to three times their run-in diameter. Our bridge plugs can be run on drill pipe, tubing, coiled tubing, E-line, or slickline, and are inflated with fluid or gas by applying surface pressure.

Bridge Plugs
Inflatable Bridge Plugs are available for a wide variety of applications.

  • Temporary or Permanent models
  • Sizes for hole diameter from 2” thru 40”
  • Open or Cased Holes
  • Vertical or Horizontal wells
  • Expansion capabilities up to 3:1
  • Run and retrieved on Drill Pipe, Tubing, Coiled Tubing, E-Line or Slickline

Open Hole Applications
Bridge Plugs - Cavern RepairCavern Repair
Storage well requires repair of casing shoe leak or new casing string
Bridge Plugs - Multi-Lateral Temporary AbandonmentMulti-Lateral Temporary Abandonment
Temporary bridge plug required to protect original wellbore while drilling additional leg of multi-lateral well
Bridge Plugs - Water Shut Off - Horizontal - ToeWater Shut Off - Horizontal - Toe
Horizontal well making excessive water from fractured interval near toe of well
Bridge Plugs - Water Shut Off - Horizontal - Multi-LateralWater Shut Off - Horizontal - Multi-Lateral
Multi-lateral horizontal well making excessive water from one lateral

Cased Hole Applications
Bridge Plugs - Selective Testing - SlicklineSelective Testing - Slickline
Lower perforations suspected of producing water and with higher BHP than upper zones due to inefficient control of water injection
Bridge Plugs - Wellhead RepairWellhead Repair
A secondary barrier required in addition to surface controlled subsurface safety valve to facilitate master valve repair on tree
Bridge Plugs - Tubing Change OutTubing Change Out
Plug required below production packer to facilitate changing tubing string and gas lift design without loss of fluids to formation
Bridge Plugs - Mechanical Integrity TestingMechanical Integrity Testing
Storage cavern requires temporary bridge plug to be placed in the casing in order to support a full column of water and achieve casing inspection logging operations and pressure testing
Bridge Plugs - Storm PlugStorm Plug
Temporary bridge plug required for large diameter, non-API casing due to impending storm
Bridge Plugs - Casing RepairCasing Repair
Casing failure requires repair
Bridge Plugs - Well Testing - Down Hole Shut InWell Testing - Down Hole Shut In
Production testing required in a low bottom hole pressure gas well

Bridge Plugs - Water Shut Off - VerticalWater Shut Off - Vertical
Open hole, vertical completion producing excess water
Bridge Plugs - Water Shut Off - Horizontal ToeWater Shut Off - Horizontal Toe
Permanently plug the toe of a horizontal well producing excess water
Bridge Plugs - Water Shut Off - Horizontal Multi Lateral - One LegWater Shut Off -
Horizontal Multi Lateral - One Leg

Permanently plug and abandon one leg of a multi-lateral well to reduce water production
Bridge Plugs - P&A Casing Section MilledP&A Casing Section Milled
Perform Plug & Abandon operations with bridge plug in contact with original open hole below milled section of surface casing
Bridge Plugs - Multi-Lateral P&AMulti-Lateral P&A
Complete plug and abandonment of a multi lateral well to prevent future downhole cross flow between wells

Cased Hole Applications
Bridge Plugs - Plug Back - Add Perfs - SlicklinePlug Back - Add Perfs - Slickline
Perforations require isolation due to excessive water production to allow recompletion to higher interval
Bridge Plugs - Plug Back - Multi Existing Perfs - SlicklinePlug Back - Multi Existing Perfs - Slickline
Lower perforations suspected of producing water
Bridge Plugs - Plug Back - Multi Existing Perfs - CoilPlug Back - Multi Existing Perfs - Coil
Perforations require isolation due to excessive water production to allow recompletion to higher interval

Bridge Plugs - Thru Tubing SidetrackThru Tubing Sidetrack
A cement plug was required above the production packer to facilitate removal of the production tubing,  placement of a cement plug and sidetracking through the casing above
Bridge Plugs - P&A - Corroded TubingP&A - Corroded Tubing
Permanently P&A an existing well with corroded tubing without using a rig
