Gulf of Mexico:

Challenge:
  • A 10,100’ gas well completion in the Gulf of Mexico was determined by PLT analysis to be producing water from the lower perforated interval.

Solution:
  • A 2-5/8” OD inflatable packer was run on 1-3/4”OD coiled tubing and set between the two sets of perforations in the 5 1/2” liner.
  • A low water loss cement slurry was pumped down and squeezed into the lower perforations.

Value Added:
  • The well was placed back on production with gas production increased by more than 7 MMCFD.
