Perforation Squeeze
Requirement:
- Lower perforations producing excess water
- Suspected poor cement between zones
- Isolation required.
Solution:
- Run inflatable packer on coiled tubing or work string and set between upper and lower perforations
- Squeeze cement into lower perforations. (Water shut-off chemicals can be used as option to cement)
- Retrieve packer and work string
- Place well back on production

Gulf of Mexico:
Challenge:
- A 10,100’ gas well completion in the Gulf of Mexico was determined by PLT analysis to be producing water from the lower perforated interval.
Solution:
- A 2-5/8” OD inflatable packer was run on 1-3/4”OD coiled tubing and set between the two sets of perforations in the 5 1/2” liner.
- A low water loss cement slurry was pumped down and squeezed into the lower perforations.
Value Added:
- The well was placed back on production with gas production increased by more than 7 MMCFD.
