Trinidad:
Challenge:
- A gravel packed oil well offshore Trinidad had exhibited increased water production rate from lower 60’ of screen.
Solution:
- A 2-5/8” OD multi set inflatable straddle assembly was run on 1-¾” coiled tubing and inflated inside the blank section of each 3-1/2” screen joint.
- Water blockage gels were pumped at matrix rates into the isolated lower screen joint.
- The straddle tool was reset across the next screen and chemical injection achieved.
Value Added:
- Well placed back on production with a reduction in water cut from 78% to 25%.
